Use the season to your advantage:
Making the most of the end of summer. It's the perfect time to tackle both indoor and outdoor clutter and get your space in tip-top shape! With those still longer sunny days, you've got the extra time to dive into those closets, nooks, and crannies that may have been ignored during the hustle of the year.
Plus, who doesn't love soaking up the sun while sprucing up their garden or outdoor area? Whether you're sorting through your stuff indoors or giving your outdoor space a fresh start, summer's warm vibes can really give you the boost you need. So let's ride this sunny wave and get organized together!
Bedroom
Welcome to our "Focus Spot," where we're giving your main bedroom a makeover. We're going to tidy up and clear out to make it feel super cozy.
Start small by fixing up your nightstand. Put away old stuff you don't need, like magazines or extra things. Keep only what makes you happy and helps you relax. Now, let's sort out your closet. Take a look at your clothes and keep what you wear often. If you haven't worn something in a year, it might be time to say goodbye. This will make your closet less crowded and getting dressed easier.
Next, let's spruce up your bed. Smooth out the sheets and fluff up the pillows. If you have too many pillows, maybe pick your favorites and put the rest away. Finally, let's check under the bed. Sometimes things hide there. Take out anything that doesn't belong and use boxes to keep things neat. When your bedroom is clutter-free, you'll sleep better and wake up happier.
What’s in your brain’s suitcase. Sometimes we don’t slow down to sit with our own thoughts and feelings. How are things affecting you? Are you processing things as you declutter and clean? What thoughts are coming up?
Let's talk about something important – taking just five minutes to be with yourself. Life can get pretty busy, and it's easy to forget to hit pause and check in with our own thoughts and feelings.
Imagine your brain as a suitcase filled with all sorts of thoughts, emotions, and experiences. When was the last time you unpacked it and took a good look? While you're in the midst of decluttering and cleaning, it's like you're tidying up your physical space and your mental space at the same time.
Take a moment to consider: How are the things around you affecting you? What's on your mind? Are there thoughts or feelings you need to process?
This simple five-minute pause can be surprisingly enlightening and help you create not just an organized home, but a clearer, more balanced mind too. So go ahead, take a breather, and explore what's in your brain's suitcase. You might uncover some gems of self-discovery along the way.
We all have routines we do without thinking, right? But sometimes, those routines can make stuff pile up. Like when we keep things we don't really need, just in case. Or when we hold onto things that remind us of the past, even if they're not useful anymore. It happens to everyone! But guess what? You can change those habits. As you tidy up, think about the routines that might be causing the mess. By noticing them and making small changes, you can have a neater and more organized space in no time.
Have you discovered what creature might be impacting your cluttering goals?
Maybe it the Nostalgia Nymph (my clutter creature) who tries to keep you stuck feeling sentimental and sad preventing you from decluttering. Or perhaps is the Indecision Imp who makes deciding what to keep and discard impossible!
